Assigning a new voice to a TTS server with a speechify engine

To assign a new voice to a TTS server with a speechify engine:

  1. From web administration, go to the Speech Proxy Administration screen (Feature Packages > Speech Administration > Administration).
  2. Select Text-to-Speech Configuration.

    The system displays the Text-to-Speech Configuration screen. For information about this screen, see Text-to-Speech Configuration screen.

  3. In the Text-to-Speech Type field, select the TTS type for which you want to assign a new voice.
  4. Select Assign New Voice.

    The system displays the Assign Text-to-Speech Voice screen. For information about this screen, see Assign Text-to-Speech Voice screen.

  5. In the Voice Name field, type the name of a voice that is available on the TTS engine server.
  6. In the Voice Ports field, type the number of ports that are available on the TTS engine server.
  7. In the Voice Base Port field, type the number of the base port for the new voice.

    Note:
    The value you specify for the Voice Base Port field should be consistent with the port number defined for the voice on the TTS engine server.

  8. Select Submit.

    The system displays information about the success or failure of the administration attempt.

Administration changes do not take effect until you stop and start the voice system.
