Configuration rules
Avaya IR system rules limit the number of possible VoIP combinations. Although the Web Administration interface does not enforce all of the rules, you should follow them to ensure correct VoIP operations and reporting.
Here are the rules:
- The number of RTUs for VoIP channels should not be greater than the value of the Card Channels parameter, which is fixed at 93.
- The number of RTUs for VoIP channels should not be greater than the sum of the number of channels assigned to all of the signaling groups, that is, the sum of the values assigned to the Signaling Group 1|2|3 Maximum Channels parameters on the Voice over IP screens.
- The number of channels in signaling group 1, specified by the Signaling Group 1 Maximum Channels parameter, must not be greater than the number of DEFINITY or MultiVantage ports that are members of the corresponding DEFINITY or MultiVantage signaling group. (On the PBX Trunk form, Port Members tab, count the ports assigned to the trunk that are controlled by the signaling group.)
- The number of channels in signaling group 2, specified by the Signaling Group 2 Maximum Channels parameter, must not be greater than the number of DEFINITY or MultiVantage ports that are members of the corresponding DEFINITY or MultiVantage signaling group. (On the PBX Trunk form, Port Members tab, count the ports assigned to the trunk that are controlled by the signaling group.)
- The number of channels in signaling group 3, specified by the Signaling Group 3 Maximum Channels parameter, must not be greater than the number of DEFINITY or MultiVantage ports that are members of the corresponding DEFINITY or MultiVantage signaling group. (On the PBX Trunk form, Port Members tab, count the ports assigned to the trunk that are controlled by the signaling group.)
- The number of signaling groups specified by the Signaling Group Count parameter must not be greater than the number of DEFINITY or MultiVantage signaling groups that control ports on the the trunk to the Avaya IR system.
