System Recovery (Hard Disk Crash)

If the media server has a hard disk failure, you must replace the media server, which is shipped with a new hard drive. The hard drive will have media server and IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX software already loaded on it. However, you may need to update the software as part of the recovery process.

  1. Get the new media server.

You will have to order this piece of equipment using normal ordering procedures for your organization.

  1. Get the latest media server software CD-ROM and IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX Languages CD-ROM, if necessary.

The most recent media server software CD-ROM also contains the most recent Communication Manager and IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX software. Get this CD-ROM from your project manager or services organization. In addition, you may need the IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX Languages CD-ROM, if the languages are not available on the media server CD-ROM.

  1. Load and Install the Most Recent Media Server and Communication Manager Software and Complete the Media Server/Media Gateway Installation

The most recent media server software (the .tar file) includes the most recent IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX software. However, you must separately install IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX after the software is uploaded to the media server FTP directory.

Note: Be sure to make the upgrade permanent at the completion of the installation of media server software.
  1. If Necessary, Upload Additional Announcement Sets
  2. Install the IA 770 INTUITY AUDIX software
  3. Restore Data
Note: Be sure to include the ACP translations, server and system files, and security files, as well as the INTUITY AUDIX data.

  2. Perform a Backup Now
