This topic provides information
about changing local and remote machine names.
Note: If you change
the local machine profile, contact all remote network administrators
and inform them of the changes.
Renaming the Local Machine
A local machine is added when the
INTUITY AUDIX system is installed. You cannot add a second local machine
or delete a local machine. You can only rename the local machine.
After you rename the local machine,
you must restart the INTUITY AUDIX system by using the reset voice-mail
restart command for the new name to take effect. The restart process
takes some time and it is recommended that it be done during off hours.
See Restarting the Voice System for
more information.
Note: If you do not know the
names of the remote machines, enter listmachines
at the enter command: prompt. The system displays
a list of all machines administered on the system.
Enter the new
name for the remote machine in the Name: field. The name
must be unique. The machine name can be up to 10 alphanumeric characters
in length. The following rules apply:
The machine name cannot contain blank (embedded)
spaces. For example, denver 1 is not allowed, but denver_1
is allowed.
The Machine Name
field is a case-sensitive field. Uppercase letters must be entered
as uppercase, and lowercase letters as lowercase.
Hyphens (-) are allowed.
Underscores ( _ ) are allowed.
The machine name cannot start with a number.
Press F3 (Save)
to enter the new name into the system.
Enteranother
administrative command at the enter command: prompt or
enter exit.
