Creating a new caller application

A caller application can be configured as a top level node that presents a set of menu options to the caller. For example,

“For Sales, press [1], for Technical Support, press [2], to end this call, press [#]”.

The menu is the origin of menu options known as application nodes.

A caller application can also be a single node. For example it may only play a greeting and transfer the caller. In this case there is only one node in the caller application.

To create a new caller application

  1. From the Action menu, select New and Caller application, or click on the New button .
  2. The New Caller Application dialog box is displayed.

  3. Complete the following fields:
    • Application name.  Enter the name of the caller application. This name will be displayed by the Editor in the list of deployed applications when the application is deployed.
    • Application description.  Enter a short description of the caller application. The description provides the text that is displayed when the application properties are displayed.
    • Language.  Select the language for the caller application. Listed are all the languages installed with the system.
    • Design for VMD.  Select if you want to specify the voice mail domain where the caller application will be deployed. Values, such as the mailbox length, will be applied to the caller application. This information is not a prerequisite for building a caller application but is useful if you are editing caller applications offline and cannot easily access voice mail domain information.
  4. Click OK.
  5. The caller application is displayed as a node under Caller Apps.
