Supporting Messaging Subscribers |
Avaya Modular Messaging subscribers have three tools for getting, receiving, and managing messages:
Preferably the client will be an IMAP4 client like Microsoft Outlook Express, which has greater synchronization with message storage and retrieval. However, POP3 clients like Microsoft Outlook also work with the Modular Messaging software. For more information, see Client Access to a Subscriber Mailbox available on your Modular Messaging documentation CD-ROM.
To help your subscribers succeed and maximize their use of Modular Messaging, do the following:
The Subscriber Options software is available on your Messaging Application Server (MAS). The software is called SubscriberOptionsInstall.exe. You can find it by logging in to the MAS with your domain administrator account and searching the c:\MMInstall\Install\SubscriberOptions directory.
You can allow subscribers to install the Subscriber Options software themselves. Simply post the software to your internal web site and tell subscribers where to get it. Installation instructions are available in the Avaya Modular Messaging Subscriber Options User Guide, 585-310-789.
As an alternative, you can use the MAS software CD-ROM to load the software for each subscriber. You can find the SubscriberOptionsInstall.exe file on the software CD-ROM entitled Avaya Modular Messaging (MM) Release 1.0 for the Messaging Application Server (software). Search the \Install\SubscriberOptions directory on your DVD drive for this file.
