Customizing text-to-speech pronunciation (English language only) (MAS Admin)

You may need to add the following to the text-to-speech pronunciation dictionary:

Proper names

Unpronounceable sequences, such as uppercase initials

Application-specific words

Cultural-specific or language-specific terms

The following procedure applies to English language text-to-speech conversions only.

To customize text-to-speech pronunciation

Run windic.exe in the Vserver directory under the Modular Messaging software (MMS) base directory. For example,

Program Files/MMS/Vserver/windic.exe

Select Open from the File menu, and open the dictionary file, User_US.tab. User_US.tab is located in the VServer directory.

Tip: You can find information about customizing text-to-speech pronunciation by selecting Help on DecTalk from Windic from the Help menu.

Customize text-to-speech pronunciation and add it to the dictionary file.

Select Save or Save as form the File menu, and save the file as User_US.dic in the VServer directory.

Repeat the procedure for all MASs in the voice mail domain.
