Controlling the Recognition and Reporting of Applications

There are two related commands within module efc for controlling the recognition of applications:

application detection|no-detection

exclude application|prefix|filter

Sample:

Avaya_CNA (config)# application detection?

baseliner(config-efc)# application no-detection ?

Application Name
Definition

group

Applications associated with a generic group to be detected

name

Specify application name to be detected

discovered

All applications discovered by CNA

group

Applications associated with a generic group to be detected

name

Specify application name to be detected

predefined

All applications predefined by CNA

user-defined

All user defined applications

NOTE: The no application detection command does not instruct EFC to ignore any rules defined for a particular application. To accomplish that task, the user should explicitly configure the application no-detection command defined next.

The persistence of the recognition of application endpoints can be controlled with this command from module engine: application age-out.

Use the application priority command to ensure that the desired applications appear on the list for live trending. This is useful because of the system-imposed maximum of (100) live-trended applications; when there are more applications than this number, then the excess will not be part of the trend-live processing.

Please see the CNA Command Reference for details on any of these commands.
