Certificate Signing Request File

Use the ssl generate-csr command to create a Certificate Signing Request (.csr) file, which you can then send to a CA in order to obtain the certificate and key files. When you execute the command, the CNA system will prompt you for the data the CA needs. Some of the fields may be optional, others required, and some fields may require a specific syntax. You should check with your CA before generating the .csr file.

The ssl generate-csr command creates both the CSR and a new server.key file, which is installed automatically. If you are generating a CSR for a module that has already had SSL files installed, use the ssl delete command first to remove the old files. Otherwise, the module’s web server will not function properly.
