Avaya Security Gateways’ embedded CNA agents

CNA agents in Avaya Security Gateways provide the unique ability to measure network performance inside Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnels between secure gateways. Systems without this capability can measure only the overall performance of the tunnel. With this capability, as long as Avaya Security Gateways terminate the VPN on both sides of the tunnel, you can measure performance over every link in the tunnel, even if the links are located in a Service Provider's network.

NOTE: Only Avaya Security Gateways running VPN Manager 3.5 or later support CNA agent functionality. If your security gateways are running VPN Manager 3.5, contact Avaya support for instructions.

To register the CNA agent in a secure gateway, perform the following tasks:

1. Define the IP address to be used for registration.
2. Propagate the IP address for registration to all security gateways in the domain.
