If polling interface-status is enabled, the CNA link monitor process will poll the edge router at a specified interval to determine whether the status of the edge router’s interface is up, down, or unknown. The link monitor obtains this information by examining the ifOperStatus variable in the edge router’s interface MIB.
This information is used by the CNA decision-maker process.
While still in link configuration mode (config-engine-link), add the following commands to the configuration:
Avaya_ANS(config-engine-link)# polling interface-status interval 30 Avaya_ANS(config-engine-link)# polling interface-status \ down-threshold 5 Avaya_ANS(config-engine-link)# polling interface-status on
The down-threshold command is used by the CNA decision-maker process to determine the validity of a down status report from the link monitor. If the threshold is set at 5, the interface will not be considered down until the link-monitor has reported a status of down five consecutive times.
