Measurements
Avaya CNA can measure the following network qualities:
- tcphrtt--TCP handshake round trip time (TCPHRTT) values obtained from the single pixel GIF measurements and TCP probes. It represents the amount of time it takes to open and close a TCP handshake between server and client during the transmission of a single packet.
- rtt--round trip time (RTT), usually represented in milliseconds. RTT is available only for prefixes receiving measurements from ICMP or traceprobe active-probing.
- jitter--calculated as the difference between consecutive round trip time (RTT) values. Jitter is available only for prefixes receiving measurements from ICMP or traceprobe active-probing.
- loss--represents packet loss events
For information on how these quantities affect your application and enabling the CNA system’s capability to fix problems associated with them, see Chapter 6: Decision Policies and Application Models of the CNA Basic Monitoring Guide, and the associated commands for application models (for example, application-model multimedia) in the CNA Command Reference Guide.
