You can set up the CNA system to maintain a synchronized copy of user-generated data on a remote device, using the rsync utility.
The remote device must be running the rsync server daemon, available at http://www.rsync.org.
Configure the CNA system with the following commands:
rsync enable rsync target rsync username
Use the rsync target command to identify the remote host.
Use the rsync username command to provide the CNA system with authentication data required to log in to the remote host.
Use the rsync enable command to begin the synchronization process. This may take a while if your CNA system has been running for a long enough time to build up a sizable trending database.
Once the database been written to the remote host, however, only the data required to update the files will be written at intervals. This requires that the remote host always be running.
If you don’t want to keep the remote host running all of the time, you can force updates manually, using the copy command:
copy /trends rsync:
To restore data from the remote site to the CNA system, use the copy command with the following syntax:
copy rsync: /trends
These examples assume you have entered the remote host log-on data using the rsync target and rsync username commands. If not, you will need to provide that information in the copy command syntax, as described in the CNA Command Reference Guide.
