Logging Commands
CNA processes will not generate log messages unless you have enabled logging with the logging on command.
When logging is enabled, you can view messages in one of three ways:
- real time--use the debug on command to cause logging messages to be displayed on your monitor as they are generated
- show command--use the show logging command to see the contents of the log message buffer, or to send the contents to a remote URL
- remote Syslog--use the logging command to forward log messages to a remote Syslog system as they are generated
- use the logging facility command to specify a Syslog facility on the remote system
- use the logging trap command to determine which messages (by Syslog level) will be sent to the remote system
By default, all emergency-level log messages are also sent to the CNA system’s serial port. You can change this level using the logging console command.
