Upgrade Directly to CNA

This approach requires either direct FTP or HTTP access from the CNA management interface to the Avaya support site. With the benefit of this connectivity, the process of retrieving the new image and updating the device can be combined in a single restore command.

Current system operations will be unaffected by the restore image process. At the conclusion of the process, the system continues to use the previously running image (in RAM) until it is reloaded.

An example of the command syntax is:

restore image ftp://username:[email protected]/.../releases/fcs-6.3.img

The specific URL here will be included in the email response that you get from the licensing process. Note also that RSOS 4.0 supports either ftp:// or http:// -based restore. With ANS6, scp:// -based restore is also possible.

This restore method automates the following steps:

At the completion of this process, the device will be ready for reload to place the new image into operation.

The amount of time that this takes will depend on two major factors:

Under typical circumstances, the entire process should complete in less than (20) minutes.
