	Console View

The Console view displays information about the Tomcat server status and activity.

If you run simulations, CCXML, VXML and Connector logs are written to Console view windows.

If you have the debug output for tracing function turned on, this view also displays the VoiceXML output generated by the application. This information is read only, but it might be helpful in debugging applications, especially if you can read and understand VoiceXML code.

To turn on the debug output for tracing function:

In the Window menu, click Preferences.

The system displays the Preferences window.

In the navigation pane on the left, click Dialog Designer > Avaya Application Simulator.

Among the options on the right side of the Preferences window, verify that the check box labeled Enable Dialog Designer logging of tracing output is selected.

Click OK.

Tip:

With this function turned on, Dialog Designer displays the VoiceXML output in the Console view and writes the output to a trace log file. This file is located at applicationName/data/log/trace.log-yyyy-mm-dd.log, where applicationName represents the top level application directory, and yyyy-mm-dd represents "today's" simulation runs generated. To view this log file, locate the file in the Navigator pane and double-click the file name.

By default, Dialog Designer displays the Console view in a tabbed notebook, along with the Properties view, in the lower-right area of the window. The Console view is brought to the foreground whenever you start Tomcat or click the Console tab.
