- Start at the Administration
main menu and select:
Global Administration
Messaging Administration
The system displays the SSH
User Authentication dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm,
in the User name
field and your password in the Password
field. Click Login. The system then displays the AUDIX
Command Prompt screen.
- Enter list measurements
feature day at the
enter command:
prompt.
The system displays the
Feature Daily Traffic screen.
- Write down the
current number of remote users.
- Press F6 (Cancel).
The cursor returns to
the command line.
- Enter get remote-updates
remote_machine_name at the
enter command:
prompt, where remote_machine_name is the name of a system that
shares the network with your local system.
The system displays the
Remote Update Request screen.
- Press Enter to
begin the remote update, or press F6 (Cancel) to cancel the update.
The system begins the
remote update.
Note: The update
might take some time, possibly hours, depending on the number
of users on the remote system. Avoid running the remote update
during prime time hours.

- When the remote
update is complete, enter list remote-extensions remote_machine_name
at the
enter command:
prompt, where remote_machine_name
is the name of a system that shares the network with your local system.
The system displays the
List Remote Extensions screen.
- Check that the
remote users are listed on the local system.
- Enter list
measurements feature day at the
enter command:
prompt.
The system displays the
Feature Daily Traffic screen.
- Verify the new
number of remote users.
- Enter display
administrator's-log at the
enter command:
prompt.
The system displays the
Administrator's Log screen.
- View the Administrator's
Log to verify that no conflicts or problems occurred with the remote
update.
- Press F1 (Cancel).
The cursor returns to
the command line, and the system displays the following message:
Command Successfully
Completed
.
- Enter exit
or another administrative command at the
enter command:
prompt or click Return to Main.
