Adjusting the System Limits

You might have to adjust the system limits to accommodate additional administered remote subscribers and/or message delivery recipients for either the AMIS Analog Networking or Message Delivery features. Only remote subscribers on systems administered for AMIS one-step addressing or Message Delivery recipients can be administered on the local system.

To adjust the system limits to accommodate administered remote subscribers:

  1. Start at the Administration main menu and select:
  2. Global Administration
    Messaging Administration

The system displays the SSH User Authentication dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm, in the User name field and your password in the Password field. Click Login. The system then displays the AUDIX Command Prompt screen.

  3. At the enter command: prompt, enter list measurements feature day.
  4. The system displays the Feature Daily Traffic screen.

  5. Record the number displayed in the Local: field for use later with the System Parameters Limits screen.

Note: Consider adding the number of local subscribers that the system administrator expects to administer over the next 12 months to the number shown on the screen.

  6. Record the number of subscribers displayed in the Remote: and Non Administered Remote: fields for use later with the System Parameters Limits screen.
  7. Press F3 (Cancel).
  8. The system displays the AUDIX Command Prompt screen.

  9. At the enter command: prompt, enter change system-parameters limits.
  10. The system displays the System-Parameters Limits screen.

  11. Enter the number of local subscribers in the Subscribers, Local: field.
  12. Enter the number of remote subscribers you expect to administer on the local system in the Administered Remote: field.
  13. Press F3 (Enter).
  14. Continue with Administering Retransmission Intervals.
