Setting Up Remote Updates with Specific Remote Systems

After you define the remote update capabilities for the local system, you must define the remote update capabilities of each remote system.

To define the remote update capabilities of a specific remote system:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select Messaging.

    Enter your login.The system then displays the AUDIX Command Prompt screen.

  2. Enter change machine remote_machine_name at the enter command: prompt, where remote_machine_name is the name of a system that shares the network with your local system.

    Tip: To see a list of remote systems, use list machines. See Viewing the Machine Lists.

    The system displays the Remote Machine Profile screen, page 1. The table for Field Definitions: Remote Machine Profile screen, page 1 describes the address ranges assigned to the remote machine.

  4. Press F7 (NextPage).
  5. The system displays the Remote Machine Profile screen, page 2.

  6. Complete the fields on this screen by using the information provided in the table for Field Definitions: Remote Machine Profile screen, page 2.
  7. Press Enter to save the information in the system database.
  8. The cursor returns to the command line, and the system displays the following message:

    Command Successfully Completed.

  9. Enter exit or another administrative command at the enter command: prompt.
