Removing the SCSI Interface Card


 


Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

After confirming that the data transferred successfully to the MAP/5P system, remove the SCSI interface card.

To remove the SCSI interface card:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. Customer/Services Administration
    System Management
    System Control
    Shutdown System

    The system displays the Wait Time Window.

  3. Enter a number between 0 and 60 to designate how long the system will wait for subscribers to log off.
  4. Press F3 (Save).
  5. The system displays the following message:

    Shutdown started.

    When the system is completely shut down, the system will display the following message.

    The system is down.

    Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot your computer.

  6. Turn off the system power.

    Observe proper electrostatic discharge precautions when you handle computer components. Wear an antistatic wrist strap that touches your bare skin and connect the strap cable to an earth ground. For detailed electrostatic discharge instructions, see Protecting Against ESD Damage.

  8. Remove the tape drive cable.
  9. Remove the screw retaining the SCSI interface card in PCI slot 1.
  10. Remove the SCSI interface card in PCI slot 1 by gently pulling on each corner.
  11. Replace the SCSI interface card in the static-reducing bag.
  12. Replace the tape drive and the SCSI interface card in the reusable migration kit.
  13. Install the slot cover and retaining screw. Tighten the circuit card retaining screw.
  14. Align the dress cover with the front of the MAP/5P chassis.
  15. Slide the dress cover towards the back of the chassis until it locks into place.
  16. Close the dress cover lock on the back of the MAP/5P chassis.
  17. Restore power to the system.
  18. Click the BACK button until you return to the procedure checklist.
