Getting Inside the MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3

Removing Power (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3).

The MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3 requires a dedicated circuit with a dedicated circuit breaker. The power cord connects to the rear of the system to the AC power inlet receptacle. See Back View (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3),

Before you begin any work, complete the following procedure to remove power.

To remove power:

  1. Shut down the system.
  2. Turn off the monitor's power switch. The switch is located underneath the front right corner.
  3. The green or amber lamp on the front bottom of the monitor should be off.

  4. Turn off the power switch on the front of the chassis. See Front View (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3).
  5. The green lamp labeled POWER ON on the front of the unit should be off.


     

    Note: The MAP/5P V3 power switch is inoperable until the system is shut down.

  6. Remove the power cord from the AC receptacle in the wall.

Removing the Dress Cover (MAP/5P or MAP/5PV3)

The dress cover provides protection for the internal components. Remove the dress cover to access the internal components. See the Back View (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3), and Removing the Dress Cover (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3).

To remove the dress cover:


Shut power off before removing the dress cover.

  1. Place the dress cover lock on the back of the chassis in the open position.
  2. Simultaneously compress the dress cover latches on either side of the chassis.
  3. Slide the dress cover away from the chassis.

Replacing the Dress Cover (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3)

See the Back View (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3).

To replace the dress cover:

  1. Align the dress cover with the chassis.
  2. Slide the dress cover back until it locks into place.
  3. Close the dress cover lock on the back of the chassis.

Restoring Power (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3)

To restore power:

  1. If necessary, attach the power cord to the system:
  2. Fasten the power cord to the dress cover lock using a cable tie.
     

    Note: Leave some slack in the power cord between the dress cover lock and the back of the platform.

  3. Plug the power cord into the designated power outlet.
  4. Turn on the monitor's power switch. See the Front View (MAP/5P and MAP/5PV3).
  5. The green or amber lamp on the front bottom of the monitor should be lit.

  6. Press on the power switch on the front of the system.
  7. The green lamp on the front of the unit should be lit.
