Initial Administration and Testing for Lodging FAX Messaging

To administer and test Lodging FAX Messaging, you must:

Verifying Lodging FAX Messaging Feature Activation

To verify that the Lodging FAX Messaging feature is activated:


 

Note: If you are already logged in, start with Step 3 of this procedure.

  1. Log in as craft
  2. Press ENTER.
  3. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  4. Feature Options

    The system displays the Feature Options Window.

  5. Verify that FAX for Lodging is ON.
  6. Verify that the system has 7 hours of available hours of speech.

    Tip: To determine the available hours of speech, subtract the current hours of speech from the maximum. For example, the system with the screen shown in the Feature Options Window has 75 available hours of speech (175 – 100 = 75).

  8. Press F6 (Cancel) two times to return to the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.
  9. Continue with Assigning Lodging Fax Services to Extensions.

Assigning Lodging Fax Services to Extensions

Before you can use the Lodging FAX Messaging feature, you must assign Lodging FAX services to the appropriate channels.

To assign LGfax to the channels:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. Voice System Administration
    Number Services

    		Assign Service

    The system displays the Assign Number Service Window.

  3. Place the cursor in the Service Name: field.
  4. Press F2 (Choices) to display a list of the possible services.
  5. The system displays the Called Number Service Choices Window.

  6. Select:
  7. LGfax

  8. Press ENTER.
  9. The system displays the Assign Number Service Window.

  10. Place the cursor in the Called Numbers: field.
  11. Enter the called number for the service. This will be the extension that will be called to leave a fax.
  12. Press F3 (Save).
  13. A Command Output Window appears to confirm the addition to the *DNIS_SVC group.

  14. Press F6 (Cancel) to exit the Command Output window.
  15. Press F6 (Cancel) until you reach the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.
  16. Continue with Administering Lodging FAX Messaging Parameters.

Administering Lodging FAX Messaging Parameters

To administer Lodging FAX Messaging parameters:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. Lodging
    FAX Add-on Administration
    FAX System Parameters Administration

    The system displays the FAX System Parameter Administration Window.

  3. Enter the number of the Guest services FAX machine.
  4. Press F3 (Save).
  5. The system displays the following message:

    FAX system parameters updated.

    Press Enter to continue.

  6. Press ENTER.
  7. The system returns to the FAX Add-on Administration screen.

  8. Press F6 (Cancel) twice.
  9. The system returns to the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.

  10. Continue with Testing Lodging FAX Messaging.

Testing Lodging FAX Messaging

To test the Avaya Intuity FAX Messaging software, send a fax to the system and allow the system to print out the fax to the guest services fax machine. To send the fax, you may use the administrator's, guest service's, or another fax machine on the premises.
