Inband PBX Configuration Tool

Overview

This section describes how to use the Inband PBX Configuration Tool to administer new inband and mode-code switch integrations.

Integrating a New Switch Using the Inband PBX Configuration Tool

Complete the following procedures to integrate a Intuity AUDIX system with a new switch using the Inband PBX Configuration Tool:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:

    Inband PBX Configuration

    The system displays the Inband PBX Configuration Screen (Page 1 of 2). For more information about the fields on this screen, see the table for Inband PBX Configuration Screen Field Descriptions.

  3. In the PBX name field, type the name of the switch to be integrated.
  4. Complete Step�a through Step�c to specify the called party's extension length, filler digit, and delimiter digit:
      1. In the Length field, type the called party's extension length.
      2. In the Filler Digit field, type the called party's filler digit.
      3. In the Delimiter Digit field, type the called party's delimiter digit.
  5. Complete Step�a through Step�c to specify the calling party's extension length, filler digit, and delimiter digits:
      1. In the Length field, type the calling party's extension length.
      2. In the Filler Digit field, type the calling party's filler digit.
      3. In the Delimiter Digit field, type the calling party's delimiter digit.
  6. If you need to specify additional call-type acronyms, complete Step�a through Step�f. If you do not need to specify additional call-type acronyms, continue with Step�6.
      1. Move your cursor to the next blank field in the Acronym column and press F2 (Choices).
      2. The system displays the Acronym Menu.

      3. Select a call-type acronym from the list or enter an acronym of up to 6 characters, and press ENTER.
      4. In the Length field, type the new call type's length.
      5. In the Filler Digit field, type the new call type's filler digit.
      6. In the Delimiter Digit field, type the new call type's delimiter digit.
      7. Do one of the following:
        • Repeat Step�a through Step�e to specify additional call-type acronyms.
           

          Note: To specify more than four call-types acronyms, press F7 (NextPage) to go to the Inband PBX Configuration Screen (Page 2 of 2). This screen allows you to list four additional call-type acronyms.

        • If you do not need to specify additional call-type acronyms, continue with Step�6.
  7. To select a type of call, complete Step�a and Step�b:
      1. Move your cursor to the Type of Call field and press F2 (Choices).
      2. The system displays the Type of Call Menu.

      3. Select a type of call from the list and press ENTER.
  8. In the Digit Sequence field, type a digit sequence for the specified type of call.
  9. Do one of the following:
  10. Press F3 (Save).
  11. The system displays the following message:

    The new switch has been integrated. To activate the new switch, select activate key.

  12. Press F1 (Acknowledge).
  13. The screen refreshes.

  14. Press F4 to activate the switch.
  15. The system displays the following message:

    The new inband switch is activated. You need to stop and start the voice system to use this switch.

  16. Select the switch, or have the switch selected, in the Init screen.

    • Ring_No_Answer_External
    • Ring_No_Answer_Internal
    Describes the various types of calls supported by the switch. The choices key (F2) lists the choices available for the type of call.
    Digit Sequence
    Alphanumeric characters
    Describes the call string sent by the switch for the corresponding type of call.
