This is the ability to forward a User's calls to another extension or external number. Calls can be forwarded when there is no answer, when the extension is busy or for all calls. This can be enabled/disabled by dialing short codes, configuring the User | Forwarding form or via the Phone Manager application.
The following default Short Codes are available to make use of Forwarding:
To set the number for forward all calls and forward on no answer
*07*N# - The user should enter the number in place of the N, eg. *07*208# or *07*5551234#. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward Number.
To set the number for forward on busy
*57*N# - The user should enter the number in place of N, eg. *57*208#. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward On Busy Number.
To set forwarding for all direct station (ie. not Hunt Group) calls
*01 enables forwarding. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward Unconditional On.
*02 disables forwarding. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward Unconditional Off.
To set forwarding when the user's extension is not answered
*05 enable. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward On No Answer On.
*06 disable. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward On No Answer Off.
To set forwarding when the user's extension is busy
*03 enable. For a detailed example of this code set up, see Forward On Busy On.
*04 disable. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward On Busy Off.
A forwarded call cannot, by default, be transferred back to the original destination. To allow this facility, set Do Not Disturb and enter the Forward Number as a Do Not Disturb Exception.
A forwarded call is processed through all extensions' forwarding path. For example, if extension 201 forwards to 202 and 202 forwards to 203 a call to 201 rings at 203.
When forwarding all is enabled, a user can also forward their Hunt Group calls via Phone Manager or by using the default short codes as follows:
*50 - Enable Forward Hunt Group calls. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward Hunt Group Calls On.
*51 - Disable Forward Hunt Group calls. For a detailed example of this short code set up, see Forward Hunt Group Calls Off.
