Enhanced basic speech is an optional feature that is intended for TAS applications, not for use with applications developed in VoiceXML.
About enhanced basic speech
The enhanced basic speech vocabulary package includes simple words that are frequently used to provide information to callers during transactions. Enhanced basic speech has been standardized to include the phrases needed to speak numeric, date, and monetary quantities. The range of numeric, date, and monetary quantities that can be spoken is the same as in previous releases.
A maximum of one language can be used per application. Multiple languages can be installed on a system, and multiple applications can be running simultaneously, but only one language can be active per each application.

Software requirements
The enhanced basic speech feature requires that the Enhanced Basic Speech package with at least one Avaya IR enhanced basic speech software language package be installed and operational. For more information, see Enhanced Basic Speech package.
