Packet-based call transfer

Call transfer in a packet-based configuration requires interaction with the DEFINITY or MultiVantage system:

  1. To transfer calls on VoIP channels, the VoIP subsystem:
    1. Places the primary call on hold.
    2. Places a secondary call to the DEFINITY or MultiVantage system, which acts as the Gateway.
    3. Forwards DNIS, ANI and UUI information, if it is available.
    4. Sends an instruction to the DEFINITY or MultiVantage system to establish the transferred call.
  2. The DEFINITY or MultiVantage system completes the transfer and clears the secondary call.
  3. The VoIP subsystem clears the primary call.
