NMS AG 4040 boards

Telephony cards provide the telephony interface to the system. The commercial AG4040 T1/E1 telephony cards for the Avaya IR system are manufactured by Natural Microsystems (NMS). The AG4040 offers T1, E1 (75 Ohm), and E1 (120 Ohm) interfaces on a single board. The type of interface can be selected through Avaya IR system administration. An Avaya IR Release 1.3 or later system can be equipped with any combination of one or two AG4040 or AG4000 boards.

The dual (2 T1 or E1 ports) AG4040 can be used with the Sun Blade 150 platform. The quad (4 T1 or E1 ports) AG4040 can be used with the Sun Fire 280R or the Sun Fire V240 platform. Both AG4040 boards support the following:

The Avaya IR system can have a maximum of two telephony cards. Using a third telephony card or another card in either the third PCI slot for the Sun Blade 150 or the fourth PCI slot for the Sun Fire 280R exceeds the limits of the power supply and system resources.

For more information about the telephony cards, see AG4040 Installation and Developer's Manual.
