Configuring network addressing

This topic provides information on configuring the TCP/IP interface.

To configure network addressing:

  1. Start at the Administration menu, and select Basic System Administration > TCP/IP Administration > Network Addressing.
The system displays the Network Addressing page.
  2. Complete the fields on the page. For information on completing the fields, click the field names or Help on the Web-based administration page.
  3. Click Save to accept the page settings.
  4. If you change the Host Name after installation, a dialog box informs you that the browser must be restarted:
    1. Click OK to continue. A results page displays.
    2. Click Logoff to restart the browser.
    3. Wait one minute, and then log back into the system.
  5. If you are done, click Return to Main. You can also click TCP/IP Diagnostics to open the TCP/IP Diagnostics page.

Important! If you modify the Domain Name field after initial administration, it is critical that you then open the General Parameters page to verify that the updated Domain Name displays correctly on the General Parameters page. Failure to verify the Domain Name change on the General Parameters page can cause Message Networking to stop functioning properly.
