The PC cover provides protection for the internal
components of Message Networking. You must remove the cover to access the internal
components.
Warning! Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible.
See Protecting against ESD damage for
more information.
To remove the PC cover:
- Shut power off to the PC.
- Unplug any connections on the back of the PC as necessary to
correctly position the PC.
- Unfasten the top cover retaining thumb screw located on the
back of the PC (see Back view of platform).
- Slide the top cover off the back of the PC.
- Unfasten the side panel retaining screw, which is located in
the center of the top handle.
- Lift the handle and slide the side panel off.
- Carefully set the PC on its right side, with the rear power
switch toward the work surface.
- If you are installing or replacing an analog-line interface
card, remove the card cage cover (see Internal
view of platform).
- For each card that is currently installed, loosen the thumb
screw that secures the card retaining arm and slide the retaining
arm to the end of the card cage (toward the back of the PC).
- Unfasten the card cage retaining screw, which is the single
screw located on the right side of the card cover (toward
the front of the PC).
- Slide the card cage cover to the
right (toward the front of the PC) to release the back retaining
tabs.
- Slide the card cage cover away from you (toward the top
of the PC) to release the front retaining tabs.
- Remove the card cage cover.
