Changing a remote machine's mailbox number length

This topic provides the steps you must complete to change the mailbox number length of a remote machine administered on the Message Networking system after initial system administration.

To change the mailbox number length of a remote machine:

  1. On the Message Networking system, delete all subscribers (manually or in bulk) and dial plan mapping on the remote machine that you are modifying.
  2. On the Message Networking system, modify the Mailbox ID Length of the remote machine:
    1. Start at the Administration menu, and select Message Networking Administration > Remote Machine Administration > Remote Machine Parameters.
      The system displays the Remote Machine Parameters page.
    2. Select the name of the remote machine that you want to modify from the Remote Machine Name menu.
      The remote machine parameters for the selected remote machine display.
    3. Modify the Mailbox ID Length field.
    4. Click Save.
  3. On the Message Networking system, administer the dial plan mapping for the remote machines.
  4. On the Message Networking system, add subscribers for the remote machine that you modified.
  5. Request an update from the Message Networking system from each remote machine with a Directory View that includes the remote machine you modified.
