Converting an Interchange remote machine to a Message Networking remote machine

Message Networking allows you to convert an Interchange 5.4 remote machine to a Message Networking remote machine type. You must convert Interchange 5.4 remote machines to Message Networking remote machines for the following:

• Any Message Networking systems in the network that have a newly migrated Interchange system administered as a remote machine must convert the Interchange remote machine to a Message Networking remote machine.
• On a system that is migrated from Interchange 5.4 to Message Networking, you must convert any Message Networking systems that were previously administered as Interchange remote machines to Message Networking remote machines.

Complete the following steps to convert an Interchange remote machine to a Message Networking remote machine type:

1. Start at the Administration menu, and select Message Networking Administration > Remote Machine Administration > Change Existing Interchange To Message Networking.
   The system displays the Change Existing Interchange To Message Networking page.
2. From the Remote Machine Name menu, select the Interchange remote machine that you want to convert to a Message Networking remote machine.
   The system populates the fields with information from the existing remote machine. All fields are populated except the Domain Name, Outgoing MTA, and LDAP Password fields.
3. Complete the Domain Name, Outgoing MTA, and LDAP Password fields.
4. Click Save to convert the remote machine to a Message Networking remote machine.
   The system is now recognized as a Message Networking remote machine.
5. Click Return to Main.
