This procedure provides information on administering number service.
When a call comes into the Message Networking system, it passes
the call to a service based on the best match between the called
and/or calling numbers of the call and the list of called and/or
calling numbers of the installed services.
When an incoming call arrives, the system finds the most specific
range of called numbers that includes the called number for the
call. If the system finds more than one range of called numbers
that includes the called number, the system continues to look for
the most specific range of calling numbers that includes the calling
number of the caller. When there is a most specific match on called
and calling numbers, the service corresponding to that match handles
the call. If there is no match, the call is handled by the service
corresponding to "any" called or "any" calling
number. To ensure that all calls are answered, it is important to
assign a service to a called number of "any" and a calling
number of "any."
Number service administration involves the following tasks:
To assign number service, which specifies
the called and calling numbers assigned to each installed service:
- Start at the Administration menu, and select Voice System
Administration > Number Services Administration
> Assign Service.
The Assign Number Service page displays.
- Complete the fields on this page. For information on completing
the fields, click the field names or Help on the Web-based
administration page.
- Click Save.
The system displays a confirmation message.

Click Return to Main to return to the Administration menu.
To display the currently assigned services:

Start at the Administration menu, and select Voice System Administration
> Number Services Administration > Display
Services .
The Display Services page displays.

Click Return to Main to return to the Administration menu.
To assign number service:
- Start at the Administration menu, and select Voice System
Administration > Number Services Administration
> Unassign Service.
The Unassign Number Services page displays.
- Complete the fields on this page using the following settings.
For information on completing the fields, click the field names
or Help on the Web-based administration page.
- Make the following field settings:
- Channel Numbers: all
- Service Name: acr
- Click Save.
The system displays a confirmation message.

Click Return to Main to return to the Administration menu.
