When your Avaya™ S3400 Message Server is installed, the technician
administers each MAS to automatically back up MAS data every night
at a scheduled time, usually one hour before midnight. You can reschedule
when each MAS unattended backup occurs if you determine that the
time set by the technician does not meet the needs of your company.
Use the information in this topic to reschedule when the MAS unattended
backup occurs.
Guidelines for scheduling the MAS unattended
backup
Observe the following guidelines when rescheduling the MAS unattended
backup:
- Do not schedule MAS unattended backups to occur between midnight
and 4 AM. This avoids any conflict with important system audits
that run every night at midnight and also with the complete system
unattended backup that runs every night at 3:05 AM.
- Schedule MAS unattended backups to occur on a daily basis. Do
this to ensure that you have a backup of the most recent MAS files.
- If your S3400 contains more than one MAS, schedule each MAS
unattended backup to occur at a different time. For example, schedule
your first MAS unattended backup to occur 1 hour before midnight
and each subsequent MAS to run 15 minutes earlier.
Rescheduling the MAS unattended backup
To reschedule the MAS unattended backup:
- On the Desktop, double-click the Scheduled Tasks
icon.
The system displays the Scheduled Tasks window.
- Right click the backup task and select Properties.
- Select the Schedule tab.
- Change the time and frequency settings as needed.
- Click OK to save the changes.
