A non-Avaya™ S3400 Message Server
email user can send a message to an S3400 mailbox as long as the
message is addressed to the S3400 subscriber's mailbox in the format
[email protected] or in the administered email
address format, generally [email protected].
The S3400 server receives the message and remembers where it came
from; that is, it retains the email address of the nonadministered
remote sender. This information is retained by the system for the
length of time specified on System Parameters Features screen, page
4.
To administer the retention time for nonadministered
remote email addresses:
- Start at the Messaging Administration main
menu and select:
Global Administration
Messaging Administration
The system displays the SSH User Authentication
dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm, in the User name field
and your password in the Password field. Click Login. The system then
displays the Messaging command prompt screen.
- Enter change
system-parameters features at the enter command prompt.
The system displays
page 1 of the System-Parameters Features screen.
- Press F7
(Next Page) until the system displays the System-Parameters Features
screen, page 4.
- Complete the
fields on this screen by using the information provided in the
table for Field definitions: System Parameters
Features screen, page 4.
- Press F3
(Enter) to save the information in the system database.
The cursor returns
to the command line, and the system displays the following message:
Command Successfully
Completed.
- If you are
done setting automatic deletion of nonadministered remote users,
enter exit at the enter command prompt, press Enter,
and click Return to Main.
