Transmitting test packets

To transmit test packets:

1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:

Basic System Administration
     TCP/IP Diagnostics
          Send & Receive Test Packets To & From

The system displays the Send and Receive Test Packets To & From page.

2. Type the internet protocol (IP) address of the system for which you want to run the test in the IP Address field.
3. Click Save to run the test.

When the test is finished, the system displays the Test Packets Results page—Internal Test page.

4. Evaluate the results and proceed as follows:
• If the results show 0% packet loss, continue with Verifying the IP address for remote machines.
• If the results show 100% packet loss, continue with Correcting diagnostic failures for the system.
