Messaging Administration main menu and pages

This topic provides information about the Messaging Administration main menu and the web-based administration pages to which it leads.

The procedures in this Help system assume that you use the sa login to access the Message Storage Server (MSS). The procedures for page navigation and data entry also apply to the vm login, although the vm login can access only a limited set of pages.

When you log in to the system using the sa login, the system displays the Messaging Administration main menu. From this main menu you can access all web-based administration pages to perform general system administration for the Message Storage Server (MSS).

When you log in to the system using the vm login, the system displays the Messaging Administration main menu (vm login version). From this menu you can access only a limited set of pages and perform only a limited number administration tasks, such as subscriber management and password administration.

The following are available from most of the pages:

  • Back button that links back to the last page in the page hierarchy
  • Return to Main button that links back to the main menu
  • Save, Submit, Add (or some action) that executes a command or makes a system change
  • Help button that opens a separate browser window to display the applicable help topic
  • Field names that open a separate browser window to display the applicable field description
  • Page Status field that displays the status of certain forms, such as whether the form has changed or been saved
