Setting administrator password aging

Aging passwords is strongly recommended to help maintain a high level of system security. Password aging can be applied to the sa, vm, and sappp logins, but only the sa login can activate or deactivate the feature. The vm login cannot access the Assign/Change Password Aging web-based administration page.

To set administrator password aging:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:
  2. Basic System Administration
         Password Administration
              Assign/Change Password Aging

  3. At the Login drop-down box, select the login for which you want to change aging.

For more information, click the field name or Help on the web-based administration page.

  4. Click Save.

The Change Password Aging page is displayed.

  5. Designate the password aging attributes for this login by selecting Yes or No and by typing the number of days. For more information, click the field names or Help on the web-based administration page.
  6. Click Save.

    A confirmation message is displayed.

  7. To change the aging attributes for other logins, such as vm or sa, click Back (on the browser toolbar) twice, and reselect a login.
  8. Click Return to Main to return to the Messaging Administration main menu.
