Creating custom subscriber fields

You can create custom subscriber fields that contain useful information for your company. For example, if your company needs additional subscriber data, such as a subscriber's department name, job title, or supervisor, you can create additional subscriber fields that display on the Adding local subscriber and Report of local subscribers pages.

To create a custom subscriber field:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:
  2. Global Administration
         Subscriber Management
              Configure Subscriber Management

    The system displays the Configure Subscriber Management page.

  3. In the Miscellaneous Field Names section (at the bottom of the page), type a field name in one or more of the Miscellaneous Field Name fields.

    For more information, click the field names or Help on the web-based administration page.

  4. Click Save.

    The system saves the custom field names and then displays the Managing Subscribers page.

  5. To verify that the custom subscriber field data was saved, click Manage Local Subscribers, click Add Local Subscriber, and scroll down to the bottom of the page and verify that your new custom subscriber field appears in the Miscellaneous Field Name section.
  6. Click Back to return to the Manage Local Subscribers page or, if you are finished administering subscribers, click Return to Main.
