This topic contains tips for using this Help system. The tips are
as follows:
- The Modular Messaging Help Home page is divided into two
sections:
- Menu bar. This section is displayed
across the top of the page and contains the following links:
Print, Back, Fwd (Forward), Close, Home, and Search the Help.
This section also contains links to four main topic areas: Getting
Started, Administration, Maintenance, and Reference).
- Index. Displays a list of all the available Help topics
organized by the four main topic areas.
- The four main topic areas are as follows:
- Getting Started. Provides basic system information
such as system installation instructions, basic system description,
Messaging Application Server (MAS) basics, Message Storage
Server (MSS) basics, and tips for using the Help system.
- Administration. Provides links to topics that describe
how to administer the various features and capabilities of
the system.
- Maintenance. Provide a list of links describing the
system hardware, system alarm and event logs, and procedures
for diagnostic and troubleshooting tasks.
- Reference. Provides links to Subscriber and Print
Guides.
- The Search link on each page provides access to search capabilities
of every html help topic in the collection.
- Use the basic Search to quickly
search through the titles of all html topics.
- Use the Advanced Search to
search through every word of every html topic in the collection.
The Advanced Search topic is large and takes longer to open
in the browser.
- User guides that are provided as PDF files are not included
in the Search database. Within a PDF file, you can use Acrobat
Reader's search capabilities to search that PDF file. Click
the Find button (binoculars) on the Acrobat toolbar.
- Use the scroll bar at the right to scroll
down the page so that you can read the rest of the topic.
- Link. A link is a navigation device. Links
allow you to move quickly to another area of the current file
or to another file in the Help system. Links are indicated by
blue underlined text. With a single click, links can take you
to graphics, procedures, or tables. Links can also take you to
other areas of text where you will find related information. Move
your pointer over any part of the blue underlined text. The pointer
changes to a finger. Click anywhere in the blue text to activate
the link.
- When viewing the Help, you can maximize
the Help page of your browser or resize it for easy viewing.
- You can use most functions of the browser,
such as:
- Click the Back button
to return to a previous topic.
- Use the Print feature
to print a topic.
- Use the Edit > Find
feature for finding specific information in a topic.
