Customizing TTS1 pronunciation with the DECtalk engine (English language only)

You may need to add the following to the TTS pronunciation dictionary:

The following procedure applies to English language TTS conversions only.

To customize TTS pronunciation:

  1. Run windic.exe by double-clicking it.

    2. This file is located in the Vserver directory under the Modular Messaging base directory, for example:

    C:\Program Files\Avaya Modular Messaging\Vserver
    \windic.exe

  2. Click File > Open, and open the dictionary file, User_US.tab.

    3. User_US.tab is located in the VServer directory.

    Tip: You can find information about customizing TTS pronunciation by clicking Help on DecTalk from Windic from the Help menu.
  3. Customize TTS pronunciation and add it to the dictionary file.
  4. Click File > Save or File > Save as, and save the file as User_US.dic in the VServer directory.
  5. Repeat the procedure for all MASs in the voice mail domain.
