Recording prompts |
The system plays a prompt when a caller accesses an application node that is configured to use a prompt. Any actions assigned to the node occur after the prompt has been played.
Caller applications use two types of prompts:
The system stores application prompts as part of the caller application. You record Application prompts in the Prompt tab.
Subscribers record announcements using the TUI, and the system stores them in their mailboxes. You can use Caller Applications Editor to display a list of announcements used by an application, but you cannot edit the content of these prompts.
This enables the voice controls on this page.
Caller Applications Editor creates a list entry for the prompt.
The system generates the prompt number automatically.
You can record prompts using multimedia or the telephone, depending on the audio device you have chosen. For information on setting up the audio device, see Configuring Editor properties.
Note:
To quickly change the audio device for recording names, right-click the telephone or multimedia icon, and click 1 Multimedia or 2 Telephone. |
This enables the voice controls on this page.
If the mailbox number is set to <default>, the system does not allocate the mailbox number until the caller application runs. The mailbox number is supplied by an association or by an administrator binding the caller application to a mailbox using the subscriber administration tool.
The system displays an area for entering comments on the Announcement screen.
If there is no mailbox allocated to this application, the system displays the Add a Mailbox Prompt dialog box.
