Stopping and restarting the MAS service

This section provides the procedures for stopping and restarting the MM Messaging Application Server (MAS) service.

Note: We recommend that you perform these operations during a scheduled down time of the system and voice mail domain, if at all possible.

To stop operation of the MAS service:

  1. Start the services Monitor application in one of the following ways:
    • Double-click the Monitor.msc icon on your desktop.
    • Click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. From the list in the Services dialog box, click MM Messaging Application Server
  3. Click Stop.
  4. After a short interval, the MAS service stops.

To restart the MAS, start Services in one of the following ways:

  1. Start the services Monitor application in one of the following ways:
    • Double-click the Monitor.msc icon on your desktop.
    • Click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. From the list in the Services dialog box, click MM Messaging Application Server.
  3. Click Start.
  4. After a short interval, the MAS service starts. A 1241 event confirms that the service has started.
