Enabling Modular Messaging for custom recipients

You enable Modular Messaging for a custom recipient by assigning a numeric address and recording a Name prompt for the custom recipient. For more information on custom recipients, see your Microsoft Exchange documentation.

To enable Modular Messaging for a custom recipient:

  1. Start the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator application.
  2. In the Recipients container, click the custom recipient you want to enable for Modular Messaging.
  3. Display the Modular Messaging property page as described in Displaying the Modular Messaging property page.
  4. Select the Enable Modular Messaging check box. This check box is cleared by default
  5. In the Numeric Address field, enter the number that uniquely identifies the custom recipient in your organization. The default is blank.
  6. For guidance on setting up a numeric addressing scheme, see the Avaya Modular Messaging Concepts and Planning Guide.

  7. Record the Name prompt.
  8. For more information, see Recording Name prompts.
