Enabling Modular Messaging for a distribution list

You can assign a numeric address and record a Name prompt for a distribution list. For more information on distribution lists, see your Microsoft Exchange documentation.

To enable Modular Messaging for a distribution list:

  1. Start the Microsoft Exchange Administrator application.
  2. In the Recipients container, select the distribution list you want to enable for Modular Messaging.
  3. Display the Modular Messaging property page as described in Displaying the Modular Messaging property page.
  4. Select the Enable Modular Messaging check box. This check box is cleared by default.
  5. In the Numeric Address field, enter the number that uniquely identifies the distribution list in your organization. The default is blank.

  6. Record the Name prompt.
