Editing subscribers in a different voice mail domain

To edit voice mail information for a subscriber, you must be connected to an MAS in the same voice mail domain as the subscriber. The steps below describe how to change the current home server so that you can edit the subscriber details.

To edit a subscriber in a different voice mail domain:

  1. Display the Modular Messaging property page for the subscriber whose voice mail information you want to edit. For more information, see Displaying the Modular Messaging property page.
  2. The system displays the Voice Mail Configuration dialog box.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Select Connect to a different voice server.
    • If you do not want to connect to a different MAS, do one of the following:
      • Continue connecting to the current MAS, to keep the current MAS connection. After clicking OK, the system displays the Modular Messaging property page with all fields shown as unavailable. You cannot edit any information.
      • Do not connect to any MAS, to break the connection with an MAS. After clicking OK, the system displays the Modular Messaging property page with empty fields.
      • Cancel, to break the connection with any MAS. After clicking OK, the system displays the Modular Messaging property page with empty fields.
  4. Click OK.
  5. The system displays the Select Voice Server dialog box.

  6. In the Home voice server name field, enter an MAS.
  7. To open the standard Select Computer dialog box where you can select an MAS, click Browse.

  8. Click OK.
  9. The system updates the Voice server field on the Modular Messaging property page with the home server to which you are now connected.
