Setting the initial password

If you have configured the Initial Password for New Mailboxes setting in Voice Mail System Configuration to Default or Random, you must set the initial password. The Initial Password for New Mailboxes setting can be found on the Telephone User Interface - Subscriber tab. For more information, see Voice Mail Domain Administration.

Note: If the Initial Password for New Mailboxes setting is configured as None, the following procedure does not apply.

To set the initial password:

Enable Modular Messaging for the mailbox as described in Enabling Modular Messaging for a mailbox.

The system displays a dialog box showing the initial password.

Write down the password or copy the screen using Print Screen.

Click OK.

Note: If you need to reset the password, you must enter a new one in the Numeric password field.
