Enabling Modular Messaging for a mailbox

You can enable Modular Messaging for a mailbox on the Microsoft Exchange server.

To enable Modular Messaging for a mailbox:

  1. Display the Modular Messaging property page as described in Displaying the Modular Messaging property page.
  2. Select Enable Modular Messaging.
  3. This check box is cleared by default.

  4. If the system displays a popup dialog box containing the mailbox password, follow the steps described in Setting the initial password.
  5. Configure basic Avaya Modular Messaging information.
  6. For more information, see Configuring Avaya Modular Messaging basic information.

  7. If required, configure advanced Avaya Modular Messaging information for the mailbox.
  8. For more information, see Configuring advanced Avaya Modular Messaging information.

  9. If required, record the Name prompt.
  10. For more information, see Recording Name prompts. If no name is recorded and Educator is turned on, the system prompts subscribers to record their names the next time they open their mailboxes.

Note: The administrator’s recording of a subscriber’s Name prompt should be considered a temporary measure because callers prefer to hear the subscriber’s own voice.
