Configuring ELA

This topic describes how to configure ELA.

Before beginning, you must know:

To administer the ELA server:

  1. On the Configure Subscriber Management page, in the Broadcast Mailbox Number field, type the mailbox number to be used for storing master copies of the broadcast messages.
  2. In the Enhanced List Application Shadow Mailbox Number field, type the mailbox number to be used for the shadow mailbox. This number should match the mailbox number you entered in Creating a Shadow Mailbox.
  3. In the List Mailbox Default Class-of-Service field, specify the class-of-service assigned to the enhanced-list mailbox and the shadow mailbox. This COS is used as the default for all enhanced lists. You can change the COS when you create a list.
  4. In the List Mailbox Default Community ID field, specify the number of the community to be assigned to the ELA list mailboxes, from 1 to 15. This number must be different than the community ID you assign to the shadow mailbox. It must also be different from any community IDs you assign to subscribers. See the example in Sample Sending Restrictions page, in which Community 10 is used.
  5. Click Save. If you have difficulty saving the data on this page, check the Manage Local Subscribers page to make sure that you are entering the correct information about the broadcast mailbox and the shadow mailbox.
