Administering Avaya Directory Enabled Management as a trusted server

Use this procedure to administer Avaya Directory Enabled Management (DEM) as a trusted server on the MSS. Administer this type of trusted server if you are using a DEM server to manage directory changes.

To administer Avaya Directory Enabled Management as a trusted server:

  1. On the MSS, add a new trusted server for Avaya Directory Enabled Management :
    1. From the MSS Messaging Administration menu, select Global Administration > Trusted Server Management.
    2. The system displays the Manage Trusted Servers page.

    3. Click Add a New Trusted Server.

The system displays the Add Trusted Server page.

    4. Select DEM from the Special Type field.

The following fields are set by the system:

      • The Trusted Server Name is set to dem, but can be modified.
      • The Service Name is set to DEM Server.

    5. Complete the remaining fields on the page. You can click the field names or Help on the Web-based administration page to view more information.
    6. Click Save to add the DEM server as a trusted server on the system.

A message displays that the trusted server was added successfully.

    7. Click OK.

The Manage Trusted Server page displays the updated list of trusted servers.

    8. Click Return to Main.
  2. In the DEM Administrator, create a DataStore Manager (DSM) for the MSS. See the "Avaya Directory Enabled Management Administration Guide" for the complete steps. This document is available for download from the Avaya Support Web site at http://www.avaya.com/support.
