Adding a remote subscriber

Running a remote update can use one of your networking ports for quite some time. If you want to add a remote subscriber immediately but do not want to run a remote update, you can add that subscriber manually.

To add a remote subscriber manually:

Note: If you are accessing the system through a dial-up connection and you have a large number of remote subscribers administered on your system, you might want to filter subscribers to reduce the number of subscribers that display on the Manage Remote Subscribers page. Doing this allows the page to download more quickly. See Sorting and filtering remote subscribers for information about filtering subscribers.

  1. On the Manage Subscribers page, click Manage in the Remote Subscribers row for the remote system to which you want to add the subscriber.
  2. On the Manage Remote Subscribers page, click Add a New Subscriber.
  3. On the Add Remote Subscriber page, complete the fields on the page as necessary.
  4. For more information, click the field names or Help.

  5. Click Save to add the remote subscriber.

The system saves the remote subscriber data and returns to the Manage Remote Subscribers page.

  6. If you want to add additional remote subscribers, return to Step 2.
